Hello,
My name is Charles Robinson and I am the factory applications manager in the Teradyne Production Board Test group. We make in-circuit testers for testing loaded PCBs during manufacturing, in order to detect manufacturing and functional defects.
One of the common additional applications that we have historically done for our customers, when possible, is to program embedded MCUs during in-circuit tests. We do this directly with our hardware, using our standard digital test language to implement the programming and standard software to execute. This has been very popular for many years as it allows our customers to reduce costs and to meet their target Takt time. We do this for just about every MCU maker, including TI.
We have a customer who wishes to program TI devices: F280040PMQR, F280048PMQR, TMS320F28377DPTPQ, F280049PZQR. These are in the TMS320 family. We are unable to locate the kind of detailed, register-based information that we require in order to perform programming via the JTAG port. We have been supplied this information for other TI MCU families, such as the MSP430. Please see TI document # SLAU320T. I’ll see if I can attach a copy.
Would be able to me locate a similar document for the TMS320 family? Or put me in contact with the appropriate people in your organization?
Thanks, Chuck
Chuck
To clarify, are you trying to program the TMS320C203 (as defined in the E2E header) or TMS320F28377DPTPQ and others listed in the body of the question?
