Hi
1) What is the role of transformer in Ethernet port of DM6437 ??
2) I have to use Ethernet on DM6437 within 10m range. If I remove the transformer than what will be its effect ?? Is it harmful in any respect ?

Hi,
Transformers are required for electrical isolation and for differential driving (there is no common ground from one side to the other). Differential driving gets rid of the common mode noise effect.
In general transfomers/magnetics are required.
If the transformer is removed then a equivalent circuit would have to replace it, for example the following app notes describe such a circuit:

In the case of the DM6437 evm you can also consult the RJ-45 connector datasheet for a diagram on the built in circuit since this connect has a built-in transformer.
