PROCESSOR-SDK-AM65X: Using MCU+ SDK

can you please describe the system requirements for choosing AM65x over Am64x. we do have plans to release MCU+SDK by end of July2023.

We need 3 x Gb ethernet ports and SIL 3 so had originally targetted a dual AM243x solution but then moved to AM64x to speed development with Linux. On the hardware side we had decided to use a SoM, again to speed development but the board selected is not available until October 2023 when the system needs to be delivered so then we moved to a single AM65x as a SoM is available. It is overkill for the application but availability pushed us in that direction. It would be useful to have the MCU+SDK so that we can develop for that and then (hopefully easily) port to the AM64x in future if that becomes an option.

Do you know which cores (AM65x / AM64x / AM243x) have functional safety packs available ? I'm struggling to find this information from TI.

Why are you dissuading us from using the AM65x ?

Do you know which cores (AM65x / AM64x / AM243x) have functional safety packs available ? I'm struggling to find this information from TI.

Just trying to avoid re-work or porting efforts as you mentioned

If this is a new design, as Ashwani recommended , we strongly recommend that you evaluate AM64x/AM243x. 

There are no plans to safety diagnostic libraries or provide FuSA software for AM65 family. We are planning to get the device certification for AM65 and will have FMEDA and safety manual available.

We will not be able to support questions on using AM64 MCU+ SDK for AM65 development. 

I have seen some customer support tickets request from you for access to secure collateral on AM65 (secure boot) -again here we do not plan to offer secure boot "Broadly" on AM65 - the customer support time that got your request has been provided instructions on who to reach out to from our marketing team , if the above guidance is creating confusion or challenges for your project - hopefully they have communicated that to you?

Without the safety pack we'll have to rethink the AM65x.

Are the safety diagnostic libaries, FuSA software, FMEDA and safety manual available for the AM64x / AM243x ?

Is the secure boot documentation available for the AM64x / AM243x ?

Are there other options with dual safety core that we might not have considered ?

The support request I raised didn't detail how I contact TI sales and what NDA needs completing ; there isn't a sales office in the UK.

Hi Mukul,

We're based in the south-west of England.

The module is a secure network bridge with a separate functional safety component which is part of a system that will be certified to IEC 61508:2010 SIL3 / IEC 62443 SL4

Yes, we're starting with the AM65x because the AM64x SoM are not available in time for the intiial release but the plan is then to transition to the AM64x. We believe they meet our product requirements (providing the supporting documentation / sofware from TI is made available for our certification).

For Safety we have the safety manual , safety analysis report and FMEDA. FMEDA can only be shared under NDA. I can probably find a way to share the safety manual and safety analysis report with you offline without NDA. 

SDL (safety diagnostic library) will be part of upcoming MCU+ SDK 8.6 slated for May. 

What additional collateral/content do you need to start development with AM64x?
