fast boot hangs while trying to format nand in omap blaze saying waiting for device

Hi, 

I am currently working on OMAP Blaze(es2.2 --gp) 4430 to bring up a android OS . I was trying to boot the device using NAND. so i started with formating of the NAND. While doing this i encountered the problem. I followed the procedure given in this link http://www.omappedia.org/wiki/Using_EMMC_on_OMAP4_devices.

"./fastboot oem format " when i use this command to format just as specified. The PC hangs saying "<waiting for device>".
can any one help me out.
