J721EXSOMXEVM: How to disable C66? (Linux and uboot)

Part Number: J721EXSOMXEVM

I want to disable device C66SS0_CORE0 in Linux.

I was able to disable the PBIST as mentioned in the TRM, but running `k3conf disable device 140` still results in C66SS0 remaining on.

Also, where in the u-boot DT files would I disable the C66 module?

Hi,

IN both U-Boot & Linux dts instances of: k3-j721e-common-proc-board.dts

Add the below node disabling:

&c66_0 {
status = "disabled";
};

&c66_1 {
status = "disabled";
};

This should disable the c66 instances.

Is there also a way to do this dynamically from the root@j7-evm linux terminal? The "k3conf disable device" command doesn't work for the processors.

Dynamically it's not possible. I have tried using the k3conf and that didn't work. So device tree disabling should be the right way in case you don't need the c66x processors.
