Hello,

I understand the when booting from PCIe interface, it means that AM64 act as device (not root complex), so PCIe REFCLK is provided by rootcomplex.

Into the TRM spruim2f_AM64x_243x Technical Reference Manual.pdf table 4-27 what does means PHY clock from external pins vs from internal source...?

Sorry it took me a bit to track this down.

"PHY clock from external pins" : This is PCIe REFCLK being supplied to us (acting as EP) via our REFCLK pins. This is the typical PCIe topology (Common Clocking Architecture).

"PHY from internal source" : REFCLK is not required to be provided on the REFCLK pins. This is commonly referred to as "Separate Clocking Architecture".
