Queries on AM389X

Hi,

Below are few queries on the AM389X. Kindly provide your inputs.

1) Is there any "PMIC" available for AM389X processor (to generate 3.3V, 1V_CON, 1V_AVS, 1.8V, 1.5V and 0.9V) ?

2) Where can i find the "maximum current consumptions" for the above mentioned power rails ?

3) Is there any "heatsink" requirement for this AM389X ?

4) What is the "default voltage" expected on 1V_AVS power rail during the "processor power up" ?

5) My understanding is that Smartreflex adopts AVS. so, how actually does "smartreflex inform the processor" for any voltage change requirement ? We need to implement the same in our design.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Warm regards,

Prajwal Kini A.

    Hi,

Below are few queries on the AM389X. Kindly provide your inputs.

    1) Is there any "PMIC" available for AM389X processor (to generate 3.3V, 1V_CON, 1V_AVS, 1.8V, 1.5V and 0.9V) ?

The EVM schematics provide one PMIC example:

    2) Where can i find the "maximum current consumptions" for the above mentioned power rails ?

Please refer to the device power spreadsheet for power numbers for your specific use case:

    3) Is there any "heatsink" requirement for this AM389X ?

A heat dissipation solution is required for proper device operation. Thermal performance of the overall system must be carefully considered to ensure conformance with the recommended operating conditions. Heat generated by this device must be removed with the help of heat sinks, heat spreaders, and/or airflow. SmartReflex can significantly lower the power consumption of this device and its use is required for proper device operation.

    4) What is the "default voltage" expected on 1V_AVS power rail during the "processor power up" ?

The default voltage at power up is 1V.

    5) My understanding is that Smartreflex adopts AVS. so, how actually does "smartreflex inform the processor" for any voltage change requirement ? We need to implement the same in our design.
