AM4378: Error screen when building SDK of AM437-evm

I was able to build by referring to the contents of the form. However, while processing the build for several hours, ubuntu hangs. Is there a problem with the PC specs or VirtualBox settings?

The specs of the PC are as follows.
・OS: windows8.1 pro 64bit
・CPU: Intel Core i5-4210M CPU @ 2.6GHz 2.59GHz
・RAM: 8GB
・HDD: 211GB available

The virtual OS settings on VirtualBox are as follows.
・Main memory: 5209MB
・Video memory: 128MB
・Graphic controller: VboxVGA (Uncheck the Enable 3D acceleration check box)
・Storage: Virtual size is 80GB, actual size is 69GB

If you have any questions, could you give me some advice?

Do you have any screenshots & logs of this hang? We need more detail on this to be able to narrow down the root cause.

For Yocto builds you'd usually want a dedicated PC (not a VM) with plenty of CPU power and RAM/storage. For example from experience I'd not recommend running a build with less than 16GB of RAM or less than 4 available CPU threads (2 dedicated cores). One typically budgets about 4GB of RAM for each Yocto build thread (BB_NUMBER_THREADS). This being said you absolutely can build within a VM if you have sufficient resources and allow ample of time for the build to complete. For experimentation and basic testing you should also consider building the "smaller" TI SDK image called "tisdk-base-image" instead of the "tisdk-default-image" for a given target. You'll get a bootable image with a lot of the basic features but not all the application software that you may or may not need, but greatly reducing build time and storage requirements.

We will consider a PC with higher specs than the current situation.

Also, bitbake failed because it was forced to terminate last time, but after executing the following, when I tried to build again, "success" was displayed as shown in the image below.

・MACHINE=<machine> bitbake <target> -c cleansstate

Also, a file that seems to be the build output of "Tisdk-base-image-am437x-evm.tar.xz" was generated in "arag-tmp-external-arm-glibc/deploy/images/am437x-evm" .

Is it correct to assume that the build completed successfully?

Also, after this, I am aware that I will create an SD card according to the SD card creation procedure from the following URL. Is my perception correct?

I created an SD card referring to the following URL.

I inserted the SD card into the EVM and booted it, but the Linux terminal screen is displayed.

Looking at the SD card, it seems that it has two partitions, one for boot and one for others.

This time, I would like to run the sample code that operates the two cameras in the SDK.
Should I build with tisdk-default-image instead of building with tisdk-base-image in this case? Or is it necessary to add an application for the camera to the SD card?

For any type of application/demo testing please build the "default" image. The "base" image is much more limited and usually used for basic boot and Linux command line testing etc. Not for graphics or application demos, which are much more "heavy".

How about you download the ready-to-use default image from https://www.ti.com/tool/PROCESSOR-SDK-AM437X#downloads and use this instead of trying to build your own image?
