QdmaPaRamBase should be set to 0x4000 + base address of the EDMA3 register space from the C674. It is the address at which the Parameter ram can be accessed (always at offset 0x4000 from the EDMA base address). As mentioned in the post, I had set it 0x09004000 for running my example on the EVM.

1. Why is it recommended to use only 6 qdma channels instead of 8?

Per the table in the first message on that post, QDMA channels 0 and 1 are used by some drivers on the ARM side. The remaining resources were available for use by the DSP. This changes depending on your setup.
