TDA4VM: Migrate swupdate to SDK 08_06_00

Genius 13655 points

Part Number: TDA4VM

Hello Champs,

Customer wants to migrate swupdate to SDK 08_06_00.

He decides to build the swupdate at first, then integrate it to swupdate, is this method feasible? If yes, is there some special considerations?

Thanks

  • Hi Shine,

Apologies for delay in response. What is the current baseline the customer is using?
Also, what are the changes you had on the base SDK for swupdate which you are currently using?

    Regards,
    Parth

  • Hi Parth,

    Thanks for your great support.

Customer uses SDK 08_06_00, swupdate is latest vesion. He wants to migrate swupdate to SDK to realize OTA function.

swupdate is based on yocto, it is difficulty to download the yocto, so he wants to download the swupdate and compile it, then add it to default system. Is the method feasible? swupdate need to realize boot, kernel and system upgrading.

    Thanks
    Regards
    Shine

  • Hi Shine,

TI has not done extensive work on the swupdate tool/layer with Yocto, this is not under TI purview.

However, if the swupdate is proven on Yocto version dunfell then customer may attempt this and proceed. There is no TI dependency unless something clearly is falling back as a request.
