TDA4 DMPAC: Requirements from TI TDA4 DMPAC Chip towards image quality

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRA829, TDA4VM

Hi all,

I was looking for requirements from TI TDA4 DMPAC Chip towards image quality:

  • Is there a particular tone mapping (linear, logarithmic or other) which leads to a better performance of the optical flow estimation.
  • Are there limits to motion blur above which the performance of the optical flow estimation will suffer.
  • What about edge enhancement? I would assume this is really messing up with the assumption based on which the Lucas-Kanade Method is legit.

I would be happy if you can give me a feedback where I can find requirements on image quality topics for the DMPAC.

(This is the latest Technical Reference Manual I am aware of: J721E DRA829/TDA4VM Processors Silicon Revision 1.0 Texas Instruments à SPRUIJ7A – MAY 2019 – REVISED JANUARY 2021 )

Best regards and already many thanks!

Jonathan
