TDA4VM: CSI2RX & DSS example code

Can you provide the CSI2RX & DSS example  source code,and instruction manual.

    You could find single camera and multi-camera example in the SDK, which uses CSIRX for the capture frim imx390 and DSS output over eDP.

    Both of these applications are open source and TI only provides the drivers for the same.

    The media-ctl is to used when you have to set the formats of each stages or to set the routes from one stage to another.

    Is all these are set prior, you could directly proceed with the yavta command.

    Here csi0_port0 refers to the input from dphy_rx and the other four ports are the 4 outputs from the csi2rx core as shown below (Image from TRM)

    csi0_port1 corresponding to stream0, whether it is this pipe, use 'yavta ' this command to capture;

    but didn't see 'csi0_port1 ' in use, only config csi0_port0 to ub960.

    You could refer the below media-ctl diagram.

    csi0_port0 to ub960 takes in the input from DS960 via DHY_RX. 

    csi0_port1 (i.e. output of cdns_csi2rx.4500000.csi.bridge) is being configured by the driver.

    As of now, in linux, we only support csi0_port1 path.

    The ub953 does not match the device tree.

    This is expected as driver match happens based on OF device_id which is correct.

    The board is not connected to the chip and camera, but ub960 can match and execute probe, but ub953 does not match and execute probe

    This is strange. Your expectation for the probe to be called atleast is correct. But I do not see that happening here.

    Could you please share the full device tree file for both fusion board and camera that you are using? (Please share the file and not the screenshot)

    Could you also let me know if you have connected the fusion board correctly? Could you please confirm this by reading the i2c address?

    Just to confirm, your current setup is J721e EVM + Fusion board (without IMX390 cameras connected) right?

    1. The previous feedback problem is due to the fact that the board we use is not J721e EVM + Fusion board

    It can normally capture data in the rtos system,but switching to Linux won't work.

    In the diagram, you are referring to the Maxim's deserializer MAX96722 whereas you are trying to probe UB953-960 FPD Link serdes? 

    Please note that the Maxim's deserializer is currently not supported in the SDK. Hence, this has not been tested/validated from TI's end.

    Could you please clarify this?

    Please note that the Maxim's deserializer is currently not supported in the SDK. Hence, this has not been tested/validated from TI's end

    As mentioned above, Maxim GMSL based SERDES is not supported in the SDK currently. Hence it would be difficult to support here.
    We don't know how Maxim SERDES works. I would suggest contacting MAXIM for the same and as it is already working on the RTOS, please review the SERDES configuration.

    You would have to route different camera pipelines via different ports on the deserializer using the route option in media-ctl.

    In the below diagram, you could see that the serializers pad numbers are mapped to deserializer pad 0,1,2,3 respectively. By default, everything would point to 0 if you do not route.

    In the setup script, you could find media-ctl -R command, which would do this routing.

    In the drivers you will need to create an array of configuration and apply it during initialization, theoretically it is possible, but the maintenance would be difficult, and this functionality should be user space configurable,

    can you tell me the use case, doing this using the corresponding ioctls from user space is much easier than doing static configuration during initialization.
