Hello,
I would like to know if I can use the C6A816x supplied from the new component TPS659112 and have a CVDD 1V AVS until 8A generated from it.
thanks

Hi Marc
We are also looking for a buck/boost power supply to drive the C6A8168 Integra from a single LiFePo4 cell.
The Integra datasheet only shows TBDs for the max current requirements on its supply rails. How is one supposed to make an informed decision on the capacity of the PSU to use with this device? Do you perhaps have guideline figures?
If the TPS659112 can be used as a PSU for the Integra, how soon would one be able to sample the TPS659112? The device seems to still be in development, as I could not even find a dedicated product page for it..
Thanks and regards
Ockie
Hello,
Please refer to the device power estimation spreadsheet for typical use case power numbers. We also recommend using a fault-tolerant power supply design to protect against over-current conditions.
Please contact your local analog power FAE for information on the TPS659112.

Marc
Hi Marc
Thanks for the reply. I just opened the device power estimation spreadsheet (DM816x_C6A816x_AM389x_Power_spreadsheet_RevB.xls), but it seems to have errors... (circular references). I'll see if I can fix it and get that to work for me.
However, this still only gives average power consumption figures at a given CPU / DSP / peripheral processing load. I'm also interested in the expected peak (instantaneous) current requirements of each supply rail. Is this information available yet, or could TI make recommendations in this regard?
Thanks
Ockie
Hi Ockie,
Make sure you don't have any other xls files open when you open the power estimation spreadsheet; that should fix the errors. I will get back to you on the peak current requirements.
Regards,
Marc
Hi Marc
Thanks, the spreadsheet works now. The power requirements at high processor load are quite frightening !!
