TDA4VM: gstreamer encoding problem

Hi，

I wanted to run the code on /vision_apps/basic_demo/app_multi_cam_codec

I used a 1920x1280 sensor, and only encode is enabled.

The program hanged at frame8, and there is some warn info in gstreamer log.

Below is the screenshot.

I also tried using gstream command to decode a h264 file, then encode and save another h264 file. the error is the same as app_muti_cam_codec.

Could you tell me how to solve this problem?

What is your environment? Are you using Edge AI SDK on TDA4VM SK?

Hi,

I am currently using ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j721e-evm-08_04_00_06.

Are there any dependencies for gstreamer?

I ran the command "gst-inspect-1.0" and found that all of the necessary elements are included in the list.

Hi Lou,

As per the logs, I see that your camera output is UYVY i.e. YUV422. Could you please confirm this?

If yes, I checked with the internal experts and J721e (TDA4VM) encoder does not support YUV422 input. Hence in the application, the input is hardcoded to NV12.

Hi,

The camera output is UYVY. But in app_multi_cam_codec, the images encoded by gstreamer is the output of LDC node, which is NV12.

Are there any other reasons that could cause this error?

Hi,

Could you please verify your sensor integration by running the same using the app_multi_cam demo with LDC enabled?

This way we could verify the sensor integration and could narrow down the issue to the encoder.

You are running Linux on A72 right?

I ported the demo from the SDK to our application and it ran successfully. Still no idea why the demo didn't work. Thanks for your patience
