I have flashed software from

www.ti.com/.../PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-SK-TDA4VM

I am able to get hostname as j7-evm.

since i have multiple boards in same network, i wish to change hostname . I have tried changing host name using

1. hostnamectl command

2. vi /etc/hostname file

reboot

the updated hostname is not reflected after reboot.

Kindly help in updating hostname permanently

Hi Lawrence,

Using the hostnamectl command only persistently changes the hostname meaning that the change will be temporary and will revert back after a reboot. If you would like to permanently change/modify the hostname, use: hostname set-hostname <desired-hostname>.

Hostname gets set to set-hostname , that also disappears after restart
