Hello,

OS : WinCE

Platform : OMAP3530

DVSDK version: dvsdk_wince_01_11_00_02

I am using TI DVSDK and the native filters. I am seeing video flicker when a low resolution clip (H264+AAC in MP4, 128x96 at 30fps) on the WinCE default media player. Is there any fix for this issue? Any kind of help is appreciated.

Which BSP version are you using? In 01.02.00 release, we have fixed a few issues related to video flicker.

Hi,

Thank you for the quick response.

I am using BSP with version 01.01.00. Do you suggest me to migrate BSP to 01.02.00 or still latest version if any?

01.02.00 is the latest BSP version. You can always get the latest version by visiting this site - http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/wincesdk-a8.html

Which is the DVSDK version that BSP 01.02.00 supports? Can I continue to use the same dvsdk_wince_01_11_00_02 with the latest BSP?

Yes, you can the same DVSDK version with BSP 01.02.00.

We are still facing the video flicker issue in latest BSP 01.02.00 and dvsdk_wince_01_11_00_02 package.

Can you please let me know if any patch has been released by TI to fix the flicker issue?

Sineesh,

Do you see the flicker issue only with the resolution mentioned earlier in the thread? Could you provide some more details on observations with other resolutions? Are you using TI EVM as your platform?

We did find a h/w race condition leading to video flicker in BSP 01.02.00. Please use the files attached on top of BSP 01.02.00 release and let us know if the flicker issue is resolved.

(Remove the .txt extension from the files. The path to the files are:

C:\WINCE600\PLATFORM\COMMON\SRC\SOC\COMMON_TI_V1\COMMON_TI\DSS\dssai.cpp

C:\WINCE600\PLATFORM\COMMON\SRC\SOC\COMMON_TI_V1\COMMON_TI\DSS\DDGPE\halsurf.cpp)
