SYS BIOS - HeapMem - Heap statistics ?

Hi,

Does BIOS support any way in which ( may be with XDC help ) to get the heap statistics ? the usage and way to detect memory fragmentaiton ?

To know which and all memoris are not freed , which and all memories still occupied in the heap ?

Hi Sherin,

There are a couple ways to get information about a heap.

1. The Memory_getStats API. The statistics are relatively generic since this can be used on any type of heap.

2. ROV in CCS: This gives a more complete picture. You can see which blocks are used and which are free.

In CCS' Tools->ROV. Select HeapMem. The "Basic" view has the address of the buffer. The "Detailed" shows the total size, total free size and the largest free size. The "FreeList" shows all the used and free blocks. Note: there might be multiple blocks in a used region. For example, if you allocate to blocks, they might be next to each other. However ROV shows it as one large used block.
