TDA4VM: Question about CSI, DSI

Genius 13655 points
Part Number: TDA4VM

Hello Champs,

Does CSI2.0 TX support camera or display?

Does TDA4VM meet below requirements?

4 camera: 2 x 3M/60fps+1x 5M/30fps(DOMS)+1x 0.3M/30fps(TOF)
2 display:  2x 1280*720p

Thanks

  • Shine,

CSITX is transmitter, used to send out the data from SoC. if there is any CSI based display, then it can be used for the display.

In the above list, we also need to understand the format support require.

For camera, it requires total 520MP/s, even if we use yuv422 data for the capture, it would require around 8.5Gbps speed, this should be possible using two CSIRX blocks.

For display, we need to merge two display side-by-side or top-bottom, and then we can send it via CSITX. The other option is to use two output interfaces like DP + CSITX.

  • Hi Brijesh,

    Thank you very much.

If selecting a Deserializer with 2x FPD link input and 1x CSI output, what's the relationship between FPD link speed and CSI speed?

Is the CSI speed the addition of 2x FPD link speed? Or the CSI speed adapts to the speed of FPD link seperately as below picture?

    Thanks

  • Hi Shine,

Since CSI output is for both LinkA and LinkB, CSI rate should atleast be LinkA rate + LinkB rate. But this question is related to TDA device, i would suggest to ask this question on SERDES forum.
