AM5718: interfacing with Single wire protocol

Hi,

I am having a custom board based on AM5718 sitara processor. I want to interface it with another board which is having STM32 using 1 wire protocol due to limitation of no of pins available for communication.

Is it possible to interface?

Iif yes how to interface and what will be the software modifications.

If any hardware reference design like schematic etc, kindly share.

Hello Khushboo,

The possibility to interface depends on the exact protocol you are using. To see what is available on AM571x see section 24.2 for HDQ and 24.2.4.7 1-wire from AM5718 Technical Reference Manual.

The TRM includes a Low-Level programming model as well as a register manual.

I don't believe we have a reference design for this.

We want to interface using SWPMI(Single Wire Protocol Master Interface) aims to implement a full-duplex single wire communication
according to the single wire protocol defined in ETSI TS 102 613 standard.

Kindly give the response whether it is possible or not?

TRM I have seen regarding HDQ but not able to figure out whether it is possible or not.

One more help is required.

If we can use HDQ pin (pin number C23 or D18 of AM5718 IC) directly or do we need to provide some transceiver IC like DS2482(I2c to 1 wire) etc for this purpose.

Khushboo,

You can use the pin directly. As stated on the TRM all you need is a pullup resistor to make it functional.
