TDA4VM-Q1: What's the function of 3 pin header (NVM Update) on J721ESOM?

Part Number: TDA4VM-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS6594-Q1

Hi, Expert,

As title description.

What's the function of  "3 pin header (NVM Update)"  on J721ESOM PMIC block

This question is come from customer, I guess it should be debug purpose only.

If you want to control PMIC by extra MCU, we can use this "3 pin header" for I2C control, Am I right?

This question is just a double check.

Many Thanks

Gibbs

  • Hello,

The function is to provide I2C access to the PMIC from an external microcontroller.  Typically this is done with the TPS6594-Q1 EVM and the intent is for debug.  There is no functional or application need.
