PWM generation

Customer interested in a micro that can give him capability to use PWM for a jitter testing instrument they are designing. He needs flexibility in setting the duty cycle and speed  and is asking for advice as to which micro would be best. We thought a Piccolo solution may be good as well as a possible C6000 solution or even a Luminary part---needs speed as fast as possible

  • Hi Stephen,

We have a lot of devices that have a PWM and that you can adjust the duty cycle and speed. It will depend on the speed of the device you want, price and other characteristics you need.

Here is a list of the devices (and the MAX CPU speed) from TI:

    Piccolo - 60 MHz

    Luminary - 100 MHz

    F2833x - 150 MHz

    F2834x - 300 MHz

    C6747 - 300MHz

Please remember that you posted this question on the C6000 forum. If you want to ask more specific questions about a micro controller please use the appropriate forum to get a faster answer.
