TDA4VH-Q1: AWB calibration in WDR and Linear mode

Part Number: TDA4VH-Q1

Dear TI experts,

IMX390 can work in WDR and Linear mode.

May I know if I should do AWB caibration in WDR mode and Linear mode seperately?

  • Hi Taylar,

Do you need to use both modes in your application?

Typically, there should be no difference in doing calibration in either mode if it is the same camera and same sensor settings other than WDR vs linear.

  • Hi Gang Hua,

AWB pluging guide mention as below:

"These raw images shall be in linear 12-bit format. If the image sensor output images are in some companded WDR format, then they must be converted to linear 12-bit format with proper exposure for the color chart before using the tuning tool"

Should we ignore above description and just do awb calibration in WDR mode?

  • Yes, you may ignore that.

We added a new tab in tuning tool for entering the WDR knee points.
The tool will do the necessary conversion automatically if you input a knee point file.
