1) As I understand, there is a new ProiNet IRT implementation planned that will be released later in 2023. Please confirm the new IRT implementation will also be supported on the existing products including the AMC110.
We do not have plans to add Industrial Protocols Toolkit offering tarketing AM64x/AM243x/AM26x families to AMIC110. With AMIC110 the Profinet offering remains with 3rd party TMG stack.
) Regarding the industrial ethernet library, the documentation indicates that the 3rd party library and TI components within the binary are using the TI RTOS.
- We are exploring the AM64 so does it mean that one of the Cortex R5s or M4 needs to be dedicated to run this binary?
- Are there options to use our RTOS instead so that the allocated Cortex R5 or M4 could run the IE stack as well as our application?
On AM64x the protocol stack is designed to run on an R5 core as shown below and described in https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/sprach6 . The application accessing the industrial Ethernet API should reside on the same R5 core and use IPC to communicate with the other cores.
