Greetings, TI.
Is it possible to install Vulkan API for Wayland UI compositor (maybe through X11 layer) in Linux?
This question is specifically about integrated PowerVR hardware in the chip.
Thanks,
Alexey

Hi Alexey,
We have Vulkan libraries available here: https://git.ti.com/cgit/graphics/ti-img-rogue-umlibs/?h=linuxws%2Fdunfell%2Fk5.10%2F1.15.6133109_unified_fw_pagesize_vulkan. However, we are not claiming full compliance for current release. Could you share more about your usecase and the importance of Vulkan in your application?
Regards,
Krunal
Hi Krunal,
Sad to say, my use case is intensive fluid dynamics and N-body computation linked to 3D mesh for rendering. I know, that 5 GFLOPs is not so big power, but still capable for general case with optimization tricks.
Regards,
Alexey
Yeah, capabilities right now are very narrow, but still works for a simple application.
Thanks,
Alexey
Thanks Alexey for the background. We are continuing to work with our GPU vendor to improve the Vulkan stack and have an internal requirement tracking the Vulkan compliance. Also, we are working on open source driver with our GPU vendor and it's vulkan based: https://developer.imaginationtech.com/open-source-gpu-driver/.
