PROCESSOR-SDK-AM437X: AM437X Custom board HSR not working

We need to enable HSR in our custom board ,The custom board has working with PRU ETH t ports .I followed below link for enable HSR

but it will not load hsr firmware.elf it is laoding with dual emac driver ,For reference please find attached file

Looks like you are on a very old SDK (5.0). I would suggest to look at the latest combination, https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-industrial-sw/esd/docs/indsw/hsr_prp/01_00_05/PRU_ICSS_HSR_PRP_Release_Notes.html#system-requirements lists 6.3 as the AM437x SDK.

Do you mean 08.02.00.24? https://www.ti.com/tool/download/PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-RT-AM437X . I don't believe we have a 8.3 for AM437x.

Have you already run HSR on this HW successfully with some SW release? Maybe the 5.0 you referred to earlier in the post.

I don't think we have validated HSR with 8.2 Linux SDK. From what I can tell only dual EMAC is supported (https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-linux-rt/esd/AM437X/08_02_00_24/exports/docs/linux/Industrial_Protocols_PTP.html#hardware-overview ). The 6.3 is the latest AM437x SDK with ICSS HSR support on AM437x.

Yes we are using https://www.ti.com/tool/download/PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-RT-AM437X with u-boot-2021+gitAUTOINC+44a87e3ab8-g44a87e3ab8 ,kernel inside the SDK .

The following doubt i need to clarify

1) Can i use only 6.3 SDK and u-boot and kernel is same of ti-processor-sdk-linux-rt-am437x-evm-08.03.00.24

2) or need to modify u-boot and kernel with

inside ti-processor-sdk-linux-rt-am437x-evm-06.03.00.106-Linux-x86-Install.bin

We test uboot and kernel together, so with the mention that 6.3 was the last AM437x Linux SDK with HSR being tested I mean:

and

https://www.ti.com/tool/PRU-ICSS-INDUSTRIAL-SW specifically https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-industrial-sw/esd/docs/indsw/hsr_prp/01_00_05/PRU_ICSS_HSR_PRP_Release_Notes.html#system-requirements mentions 6.3.

Using newer SDK there might be issues with HSR.

If we downgrade u-boot and kernel and /PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-RT-AM437X/06.03.00.106 what are the critical vulnerability,

Also Can we get difference between these two SDK

The release notes track the difference between releases.:

https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-linux-rt/esd/AM437X/08_02_00_24/exports/docs/devices/AM437X/linux/Release_Specific_Release_Notes.html . Main difference is the kernel, 5.10 (2021 LTS) on 8.2 and 4.19 (2019 LTS) on 6.3.

The HSR package https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-industrial-sw/esd/docs/indsw/hsr_prp/01_00_05/PRU_ICSS_HSR_PRP_Release_Notes.html#system-requirements has not been verified with the newer SDK, so the options are to use the old SDK (6.3) or for you to port and verify on the newer (8.2 SDK).
