TDA4VM-Q1: Processors forum

Part Number: TDA4VM-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDA4VM

Hello TI Team,

Please help to check whether TDA4VM ECO(J721S2) supports Infineon's S28HS01GTFPBHM03. The Infineon S28HS01GT part is a JEDEC 251/216 compliant part. This means the TDA4 ROM Loader uses a specific boot mode called xSPI. The xSPI boot mode on J721E is only supported starting w/ PG 1.1 devices. But if there is limit on J72S2?  I didn't find SR1.1 devices in TDA4ECO's DM。
Thank you in advance.
Best Regards
Juanli Zhang
  • Hi,

xSPI boot mode is supported on J721S2 device, so if you have standard flash supporting this boot mode with SFDP table populated in it, it should work.

Regarding details on this flash, i would request to help.

    Regards,

  • Hi Juanli Zhang

This device can be supported on J721S2 device.

S28HS512TGABHM01 is there on the J721S2 EVM which is similar to the one you have i.e. S28HS01GTFPBHM03.

The xSPI boot mode on J721E is only supported starting w/ PG 1.1 devices. But if there is limit on J72S2?  I didn't find SR1.1 devices in TDA4ECO's DM。

The J721S2 doesn't have a PG 1.1 but the PG 1.0 (or SR 1.0) for J721S2 can support xSPI boot mode.

    Regards
