I'm currently using the PRU ICSS EtherCAT Slave provided by Texas Instruments on a AM57x Sitara board. The provided firmware flashes a Frame_Handler firmware to PRU IRAM0 and Host_Interface firmware to PRU IRAM1. For the purposes of our application we were wondering if it's also possible to use the PRU on this board to run the ICSS EMAC alongside the EtherCAT functions. The ICSS EMAC to my understanding requires at least one of the PRU IRAM areas to load it's own firmware. Thus because the EtherCAT is loading firmware into both areas it appears we cannot use both. Was looking to confirm if this is in fact the case, and if there may be a work around to allow us to use EMAC on the TMDXIDK5718 dev board.
