Hi Support Team,

My customer is trying to reference Dolby Atmos® decoding and rendering using the 66AK2G audio SoC
as realized in TI's reference design at the following site.

In this technical document, you mention the following: Is it possible to provide the software
if the customer has previously had a license from Dolby?
Please let me know if I should check with local sales.

Dolby Atmos software to a customer that is a Dolby Atmos licensee.

Also, this solution uses the 66AK2G12, but if you know of any other TI devices that would work better, please let us know.

  • TI DA8x and K2G have Dolby Atmos solution which was distributed to customers who have the Dolby license using MSS. This solution is no longer actively being developed or supported primarily due to the fact that TI preferred 3Ps who were TI integration partners are no longer supporting and investing in this DSP based Dolby offering.

    We are currently looking at alternate solutions with our newer AM6x portfolio which we can provide more insights under NDA but we are unable to offer support on our older 32 bit DSP devices which used TI RTOS.

    Thank you fo your reply.

    I understand that the 66AK2G12 reference design cannot be used as a reference for new design work.

    We are currently looking at alternate solutions with our newer AM6x portfolio
    which we can provide more insights under NDA, so since my customer has already signed an NDA with TI,
    I will ask my local TI member to explain the latest AM6x solution to my customer.
