How to configurate TMDXEVM6670L with CCS 5.0.3

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6670

Hi guys. After coding, I am going to download the program to TMDXEVM6670L, so I new->target configuration file. Then in the new opening page, whether I select XDS100V1 or XDS100V2 in the Connection, I can not find TMDXEVM6670L Emulator..... Whether I need to install a TMDXEVM6670L driver or something? Or how to configurate the board? Thx!

  • Oh, I solved it! I don't know why it happend, when I check the file such as C6670.xml and C6678.xml, they don't exist. So I try a method I found in the ti.wiki, copy the C6670.xml C6678.xml TCI6608.xml TCI6616.xml EVMC6670l.gel and EVMC6678l.gel to where they should be. After restart the CCS 5 , I find the TMS320C6670 in the .ccxml!

  • No XML files need to be copied.  The connection is "Texas Instruments XDS100v1 USB Emulator" and the device is "TMS320C6670".

  • Maybe I hadn't told you clearly. When first time I wanted to download the program to the board, I searched everywhere but still didn't found device named "TMS320C6670" in the "Texas Instruments XDS100v1 USB Emulator" connection. So I copied that XML to where they should be manualy. After doing so, I can see the device named "TMS320C6670" being in the "Texas Instruments XDS100v1 USB Emulator" connection.

  • odzy,

Just to make certain, you have CCSv5.0.3, not v5.0.2 right?  John is correct, that the files shouldn't have needed to be copied for v5.0.3.  That is strange that they weren't installed for you.  If you have v5.0.2, then the files aren't included in the CCS install, you had to either copy them or have the patch downloaded before you install.  Either way, we recommend v5.0.3.

Glad you were able to make use of the forums and find the solution.

    Regards,

    Travis

  • Yep, what I have intalled is CCSv5.0.3, not v5.0.2. But I don't know why I couldn't find those files thought I had installed and reinstalled. Anyway, thank you and thank John very much!
