TDA4VH-Q1: DSS Format Converter Max Pipeline Number

The HW WB pipeline is only one, so even if we have multiple tasks or multiple input pipelines, they all will eventually be serialized and be sequenced by the DSS WB driver..

Thanks Brijesh, So before the wirteback stage, is that possible to parallelize tasks in the processing stage? If yes,  how can I do it?

Do you mean before using DSS WB M2M path? You can do it if there are multiple HW instances. 

But in DSS WB M2M path, input and output both are single, so it can process only one frame at a time..

Yes, I guess before the DSS WB path, it is possible to do the format convert in parallel.

But I am not sure how can it be done, can you help me to check if my current setting utilizes the multiple HW units?

Hi Hannah,

No if you are using DSS WB pipeline, then it is not possible to do format conversion in parallel. 

What i meant was, lets say, if you want to do YUV422 to YUV420 format conversion, that can be done using two LDCs in parallel. The other format conversions will be serialized in the DSS WB M2M path.
