Actually the customer understand how to use the SPI bus for data capture. However, the data acquisition is too inefficient at this time. The process for data capture is spif sends two bytes of data to the ADC, receives two bytes of data from the ADC, and the SPI frequency is set to 500K. The data is acquired once at a time, that is, it takes about 80 microseconds to read and write through the SPI, and the ADS8688 supports a throughput rate of 500k.

Is it because the SPI is too inefficient to read and write? Or is there other questions? Could you please tell how to improve it?

The one use case that we supported was 1-2 ms message with 512 Byte payload that was the best we could get SPI slave.

Is it possible to use MCU or DSP to read and write through SPI, which will be more efficient? Will the efficiency of using ARM's LINUX itself be lower?
