AEC Bandwidth of the AER software (AER 15.1.10), does it provide actual echo cancellation out to 8kHz when using 16kHz sample rate?

We have a project which requires a wideband AEC (8KHz bandwidth of AEC, fs=16KHz or above), so we need know if the aer library provides 8kHz bandwidth of AEC. The aer "Fact Sheet" sheet mentions “Sampling rates: 8kHz, 16kHz band-split”.  I need to better understanding of what you mean by 16Khz band-split.  Does it provide full band AEC out to 8kHz, or is it using a technique in which when there is FarEnd or Double Talk condition, the upper [4K - 8K] band is simply suppressed.

We are looking at using the aer library on the C674x platform.

thanks
