AM3356: MAX DRAM Supported by Microprocessor

Hi Sir/Ma'am,

I just wanted to know, how to know or check the max dram (ddr3/ddr4..) supported by a microprocessor, here AM335X without referring the data sheet.

Is there any equations or any other formulas to calculate the same. What are the factors for deciding the max size of RAM supported by a microprocessor. Please help me to solve my query.

I'm confused, why can't you refer to the datasheet to get this information? The max size is based on the internal design of the IP. I don't understand what formulas you need.

Thank you for your reply. Yeah as you said the max size will be mentioned in the data sheet. But I just wanted to know, how to calculate the max dram supported by a processor. Take AM335X as an example. So what are the factors that decide the same.?

The IP in the design really determines this. The IP is designed based on marketing requirements and the chip is designed to meet that.
