OMAP3530 HDMI input

OMAP3 processors have HDMI output, which is very nice. I was wondering, however, if it would be possible to use the HDMI port for video input. It seems that no one has done it yet.

I would like to use my OMAP3530-based Gumstix Overo board to read live video from a HD camera, such as the Contour+ ( http://www.bikerumor.com/2011/05/13/contour-gets-official-with-hdmi-out-microphone-in-wider-angles/ ). Is the hardware capable, provided that I write drivers for it?

Kalle, the OMAP3530 device itself does not have an HDMI port. However, you can connect an HDMI transmitter to it to gain HDMI output. Similarly, to gain HDMI input capabilities, you would need an HDMI receiver connected to the OMAP35x CAM input port

You are correct. I failed to notice the TFP410 transmitter on my board (Gumstix Tobi expansion board for Overo).
