[C6747] CCS v3.3 SR12 Crash Issue Due To Conflict of Simulators?

I update SR12 recently. Since it already integrates CSP of C6747, I'd like to compare the performance of C672x and C674x.

The system configuration is shown here:

Then select 'Save & Quit', I get the crash window like the following:

However, if I remove the item 'C672x CPU Cycle Accurate Simulator' from CCS Setup, CCS can start successfully, and C674x simulator works well.

So is there any conflict between C672x and C674x simulators? Any idea how to let them co-exist? Thanks!

Hi,

You are right. We do not support multiple simulator boards to be brought up together. We will take this input and resolve the crash issue to gracefully exit with appropriate message. But there is no plan as of now to support multiple simulator boards simultaneously.

OK, get it.

But I've tried to use simulators for C2000 and C6000 at the same time. So could I get the conclusion that the restriction you mentioned is only applied for those from the same family?

Hi,

Yes, there are certain exceptions like C2000 and C6000 that work together. But that is more of an exception than a norm. The recommendation that we often make is not to setup and use multiple boards on simulators manually.
