C6713 simulator slow

Hi,

I am using the C6713 cycle accurate simulator. I could not find any other simulator.
It is very slow - about 100 times slower than real time.

Is this normal? Is there a faster simulator I can use?

    Hi Mike,

    The simulator is performing a large number of calculations to be cycle accurate and is rather slow. I am afraid you will not find a faster C6713 simulator.

    Hi Mike,

    Cycle accurate simulators are slower. You can use the "Functional" Simulator which is a faster one. The Functional simulator is not shown in the "Available Factory Boards" in CC Setup. Click on "Modify Properties" to change the "Simulator type" to Functional. 

    You may also use the C67xx CPU only configuration if you are not bothered about the device details.

    Please refer to CCS Help on the following topics to learn about the different types of simulators and the steps to configure.

    1. "Choosing the Right C6x Simulator Configuration" available under "Code Composer Studio Setup" --->C6x Simulator Configuration.

    2. "Configuring A Simulator" available under "Code Composer Studio Setup" ---> How to Start...."
