DRA821U: How to modify SDIO drive strength

Part Number: DRA821U
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRA821

Hi TI

The 200Mhz clock used by eMMC and SDIO exceeded the standard value and is in the process of debugging.

I would like to ask you to check if there is any way to adjust the DRA821 Drive Strength.
I'd like to request a quick confirmation in an urgent situation.

Please let us know how to adjust MMC/SDIO drive strength.

Thanks.

Best Regards,

Jack

  • Hi

According to the customer's further comment, they have already tried adjusting SDIO Strength before, but the problem has not been improved,
In the graph below, the green 'x' mark exceeds the pink reference line, indicating excessive SDIO port noise affecting WIFI behavior.
As a result, the design verification cannot be passed.

Can you please tell us how to reduce the noise from 200MHz clock output port?

    Thanks.

    Regards,

    Jack

Do I need something like a Damping resistor close to WIFI to connect to? Please introduce a solution that you can suggest.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Jack,

Please see the following thread about drive strength controls:

    https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1200155/faq-tda4vm-q1-tda4-drive-strength-controls

This thread should help you with changing drive strength for eMMC and SDIO.

    Regards,

    Matt
