OMAP-L138: OMAPL138EZWTA3E

Part Number: OMAP-L138

I bought the component OMAPL138EZWTA3E by mistake instead of OMAPL138EZWTA3. The E refers to a security feature.

Can I use OMAPL138EZWTA3E like OMAPL138EZWTA3 without additional hardware?

If there is no solution, what hardware do I need to add?

Thank you,

Roman

  • No, the secure part while pin to pin compatible and memory map compatible has several functional differences that I have listed below:

    1. The JTAG on the device is locked

    2. It is DSP boot master device as opposed to ARM boot master device as in case of general purpose part

    3. The boot images need to be signed using SecureAISGen tool and AISGen

    4.  It runs a secure kernel and with some IO and memory firewalls to protect memory reserved for secure kernel.

We have very little expertise and experience to support the E variant of the part so I would strongly recommend that you order the right general purpose part rather than the secure part to avoid any development challenges due to generic secure boot being enabled on the part.
