Part Number: AM623

The chip is AM6234, the SDK uses the latest 8.6, our front-end uses JavaScript, the architecture is vue3, after the release of the web back-end, browse with the matrix_browser program, the interface displays a white screen, the analysis shows that the matrix_browser version is low, and Firefox browser needs to be installed. I hope to install browsers and tools such as apt and dpkg on the SDK.

Hello,

If you would like to install browsers, you have two options here:

1. for SDK 8.6 and lower, Yocto: Our filesystems are based on Yocto and you would need to manually enable the following recipe: https://github.com/OSSystems/meta-browser. If you are not familiar with Yoto, please refer to he following page: https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-linux/esd/AM62X/08_06_00_42/exports/docs/linux/Overview_Building_the_SDK.html. Also, our latest SDK 9.0: https://www.ti.com/tool/download/PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-AM62X has firefox. Here is the out of box demo for it: https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-linux/esd/AM62X/09_00_00_03/exports/docs/system/Demo_User_Guides/TI_Apps_Launcher_User_Guide.html

2. As part of 9.0 SDK, we also have Debian release and there you can do apt get commands. https://www.ti.com/tool/download/PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-AM62X/09.00.00.03

Hello,

I internally checked with our developers and we did not add the firefox browser binary in our filesystem. Instead we use Docker to launch the firefox. Please refer to the following thread: https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1251691/am625-access-internal-network-inside-docker-web-browser. My colleague demonstrates how to launch fire Firefox on 9.0 release.

It's the firefox-esr and here is the Docker file: https://github.com/TexasInstruments/seva-browser/blob/main/Dockerfile. With regards to Uboot error, please create another ticket.

Hey Tansai,

Regarding the issue you are seeing with the Firefox container, please make sure either the WAYLAND_DISPLAY or DISPLAY environment variables are set and are pointing to a valid display socket. Our devices use Weston (so use WAYLAND_DISPLAY) and the default socket should be in either /run/user/0/wayland-0 or /run/wayland-0 if I remember correctly.

I'll have to refer you to the qtwebengine documentation for that second question: doc.qt.io/.../qtwebengine-overview.html
