I've run into a frustrating problem with logs in CCS using MCSA (UIA). This is something that used to work for me and for some reason stopped working...

MCSA connects to the target without any error, but logs are no longer showing in the 'MCSA Live Session" tab (the tab remains empty).

Checking with the ROV tool, the "serial" field in "LoggerCircBuf" is advancing in all loggers (Load, Main, SYSBIOS loggers), but nothing is shown.

This happens both in JTAGRUNMODE and in NONJTAGTRANSPORT (ethernet) modes.

Moreover, this also happens with the MCSDK-supplied MCSA stairstep JTAGRUNMODE example.

My setup includes C6670 EVM Lite and CCS v5.0.3.00028. JTAG emulator is XDS560v2.

Is this a known issue? any ideas how I can get my logs back ??

Logs are back !

Started a new workspace and imported the project into the new workspace.

Any ideas what went wrong in the original workspace that caused this?

Ran,

Good to hear that you got this going again. We've not seen this problem before and don't know what could have caused it. If you still have the original workspace around and if you're open to participating in a WebEx session we can have a look at your machine to see if we can identify the cause.

Hi Imtaz,

Unfortunately I already deleted that workspace...

I encountered another issue - UIA doesn't seem to work when I disable L1D cache on the C6670 (in the first line in main() or by setting Cache.initSize in the cfg file).

The Logs windows shows "Waiting UIA SyncPoint data" and doesn't display any logs ...

Are you seeing this problem with Ethernet or JTAG transport or both?

Hi Imtaz,

with JTAG it works fine without L1D Cache, the problem is only with Ethernet transport.

Ran,

It may be that without L1D, performance is so slow that lower priority task (like the UIA ethernet transport) are not getting enough cpu cycles to run. JTAG does not have a transport task running on the target.
