Hello, I would like to ask a software approach that can restart all the TDA cores. The goal is the simulate removing and re-applying power to the processor.

Hi,

From U-Boot the 'reset' command and from the kernel you can try 'reboot' command. This will not be a power/on/off sequence but will be a SOC warm reset.

Can you try that?

Hi Keerthy,

The reset method we are looking for is to reset the SOC either from an user space application on either QNX (A72) or FreeRTOS (R5F) side. When OSes are running, we don't have access to U-BOOT.

The kernel reboot command is on QNX side or FreeRTOS side? And how to send this command from an user space application to the kernel?

Hi Fusen,

Please try the QNX Shutdown utility, - shutdown (qnx.com).

The backend for this utility is specified in the QNX BSP, and is hooked up to the TISCI reset (TI_SCI_MSG_SYS_RESET).

Thanks. This resolved my issue. I verified that both A72 and MCU cores were restarted.
