TDA4VM: Multi-layer transparent overlay of TDA4VM Display Subsystem

Hi,

There is an introduction of Overlay Manager in Jacinto 7 DSS overview,
and I am wondering is it possible to do multi-layer transparent overlay on display?

In vision demos, the DSS is controlled from R5F by OpenVX based display node.
My purpose is to do multiple ARGB image buffer overlay on the display with transparent effect.

For example,
1. Create display_node by tivxDisplayNode for pipepid:2 (vx_image come from camera sensor)
2. Overlay some transparent ARGB image data on it (may come from PNG files or drawn by opencv)

But I can not find any interface or example to do this..

Could you please have a guide line about how to achieve this?

Please also correct me if I have any misunderstanding of overlay manager.

Hi Kris,

Do you mean to make top or the bottom layer transparent by using alpha blending? Then yes, it can be supported in the DSS. In all vision apps demos, graphics is shown above the video layer, making video layer transparent.

Thanks for the reply.

Just take the single camera VPAC demo for the example.
In the original demo, image from camera sensor is shown on the display.

My goal is to overlay maybe more than five ARGB image buffers on camera image with transparent effect through DSS.

I tried to find some interface/API just like overlay configuration parameters: src_rect, dst_rect, ARGB buffer pointer..
But still have no idea about how to use it.

Could you please provide more information or examples of this?

Hi Kris,

I think single camera application does no have this feature enabled. But multi-camea application has this feature. When we run this application, we see color bar at the bottom of the screen and TI logo at the top, those are coming by blending graph RGB format with the video. This is done using a separate GRPX node.
