AM6442: boot failed

Part Number: AM6442

Hi Team,

The AM6442 is used with the PMIC chip TPS6522053 and is designed using the ADC0 module. The hardware debug phase has the following issues at this time:

The PMIC TPS6522053 fails to power up during power-up sequence when the timing occurs to SOLT2(start of 4 rails such as LDO1\LDO3\LDO4\buck2t). LDO1\LDO4\Buck2 are 0-V on all three rails and 0.7-V on LDO3 (1.8-V normal).

The customer disconnects the LDO3 output of the PMIC from the supply pin (J13) of the AM6442 chip ADC0 VDDA_ADC, that is, the LDO3 output does not supply power to the ADC module of the AM6442, at which point the PMIC chip can perform power-up sequencing normally, and the output voltages are good for each rail.

The ADC module pin hardware connections for the AM6442 chip are as follows:

  • ADC0_REFN (J16) is connected to VSS
  • ADC0_REFP(J15) is connected to 1.8V, which is the LDO3 output of the PMIC chip
  • VDDA_ADC (J13) is connected to 1.8 V, which is the LDO3 output of the PMIC chip
  • ADC0_AIN0~ADC0_AIN4, these five ADC input pins are external sockets
  • ADC0_AIN5~ADC0_AIN7, these three ADC input pins are not used and are directly connected to VSS

Could you please help check this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry
