PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X: AM335x : about IEEE 1588 version (PTP version)

Part Number: PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X

Thank you for your hard work.

I have a few questions about PTP (IEEE 1588) at AM335x

The second page of the link below(AM335x Sitara Processors Datasheet) states that AM335x supports IEEE 1588-2002 (PTP v1).

And, "Changed IEEE 1588v2 feature to IEEE 1588v1." That's what is says.

Meanwhile, chapter 14.2 of the link below(page 2001) states that CPSW(Ethernet Switch Subsystem) supports IEEE 1588v2.

And, The CPSW contains two CPGMACs, an external Ethernet interface, and on page 2002, the description of this CPGMAC states that only IEEE 1588v1 is supported. IEEE 1588v2 is not supported.

I'm very confused.

Does the am335x support IEEE 1588v2 and not compatible with 1588v1?

Since the switch supports 1588v2, and the CPGMAC supports 1588v1, does that processor only support 1588v1?

Please reply.

Thank you
