TDA4VM: After the version is upgraded, the system cannot be powered on

Part Number: TDA4VM

Hello TI!

Upgrade to 08.06.01.03. Download the Ti-Processor-SDK-RTOS-J721e-EVM-08_06_01_03.tar. gz and Ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j721e-evm-08_06_01_03-prebuild.tar. gz Compressed package,
business card printing and brush initial image are normal, but soon  stuck after the system is powered on

I found the differences with the old version in the boot-j7-evm.tar.gz . copy it to /psdk_rtos/scripts/,
package, base uenv.txt.disp_sharing uenv.txt.dra821a uenv.txt.jailhouse uenv.txt.psdkra  is missing five files after decompression

Please help to see if this is the reason

  • Compressed package,
business card printing and brush initial image are normal, but soon  stuck after the system is powered on

Do you get any logs? Can you share where exactly is the logs are stuck?

    Best Regards,

    Keerthy

  • Dear Keerthy J,

            Please help me check, Thaks.

  • Hi,

Can you try the below command from u-boot:

    Setenv dorprocboot 1

This will ensure that the remote cores are loaded from the U-boot itself.

    Best Regards,

    Keerthy

  • Dear Keerthy J

How do I set up the uboot?

          thanks

  • Dear Keerthy J

How do I enter into the uboot?

          thanks

  • Dear  Keerthy J

Now I can enter Linux system when I set  setenv dorprocboot 1 and boot from u-boot . Thank you very much for your support

  • Dear Keerthy J

After running commands in the uboot mode, the system can boot normally. What causes this problem and how to modify it?

              thanks

  • Hi,

The Linux cannot guarantee the order of probe of remote r5f cores. The issue happens when core 1 is probes before core 0. The primary core aka core 0 has to be probed before core 1. So it's advised to boot from U-boot where you can control the order of loading the cores. So please use the suggested commands in U-boot.

    Best Regards,

    Keerthy
