PROCESSOR-SDK-AM69: AM69A/AM69 differences, software offerings

Part Number: PROCESSOR-SDK-AM69
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM69A, AM69, AM68, AM68A

Dear TI team,

I'm currently looking at the AM69A. We're using a SK-AM69A, and on that product page there are two Linux BSPs:

PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-AM69

PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-AM69A

The downloads for the AM69 SDK also include a software roadmap:

SW_Roadmap.pdf

  • Are there any differences between AM69 and AM69A? Do both really exist?
    • There seems to be only a product page for the AM69A. The link in the SW_Roadmap.pdf to the AM69 is a 404.
  • What's the difference between PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-AM69 and PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-AM69A?

The same questions also apply to the AM68/AM68A, though those are currently not my focus.

Regards,

Dominic

  • Hi Dominic:

    • Yes, both really do exist. AM69 is the base general purpose device, and AM69A (A for analytics) adds the HW accelerated AI functionality. The AM69 product page looks to be down right now, I will check with team to see why. But it should be up if you check in a couple days or so.
    • AM69A Linux SDK adds AI libraries, and has an Vision AI-oriented Out Of Box GUI demo, as opposed to the Graphics Display HMI Out Of Box GUI demo of AM69.

Same logic applies to AM68/AM68A as well.
