TDA4AH-Q1: SysConfig tool differs to schematics

Part Number: TDA4AH-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG

Hi TI,

We have found that the SysConfig software tool does not match entirely with the schematics provided.

For example, in the SERDES part, the SERDES2 Lane 0 and the SERDES4 Lane 0 are in conflict when trying to link the pins on SGMII.

Moreover, the SysConfig software does not handle USXGMII and QSGMII, only SGMII is available.

How can we configure correctly the SERDES part if we are not able to mirror what is possible?

Thanks for your help.

  • Hi Scott,

Thank you for pointing this out. Can you please point out if possible with screenshot about the conflicts seen?

I am not sysconfig tool expert, but it will probably help out the expert for a direct reference of the error being seen to maybe send out a patch to you.

  • Hi,

in the SERDES part, the SERDES2 Lane 0 and the SERDES4 Lane 0 are in conflict when trying to link the pins on SGMII.

    SERDES2 Lane0 and SERDES4 Lane 0 pointing to same MAC Port i.e. Port-5.
This support of same functionality on multiple pins is for the flexibility to configure as required.

Please refer to below images for more details about the support of SERDES's and mapping of various functionalities on each pins.

Please use latest SysConfig tool, where you can map MAC Ports to SERDES lanes from CPSW9X configuration.

Moreover, the SysConfig software does not handle USXGMII and QSGMII, only SGMII is available.

Irrespective of MAC Port interface USXGMII/QSGMII/SGMII, Pin mapping will be same from MAC Port to SERDES. This is the reason for QSGMII/USXGMII information not found from SysConfig tool.
Selection of interface is from application in RTOS, whereas in Linux it will be from Linux device tree files.

SysConfig tool basically using for Pin mapping.

    Best Regards,
    Sudheer

  • Hi Sudheer,

Thanks for the answer, this resolved my question.

    Kind regards,
