Beagleboard-Booting android uImage using NAND flash

Hi, Prajith,

You can boot up the board by SD card. After u-boot is loading, press any key to stop autoboot. Then you can update the MLO, u-boot and uImage on NAND flash.

My beagleboard is xM version. So no NAND flash on it. I don't know the exactly address to program the image. I think you can find the address on google.

Hi Prajith,

Please look at arch/arm/mach-omap2/board-omap3beagle.c file (omap3beagle_nand_partitions structure) for and partitions information and use u-boot nand read and write commands to flash images into nand.

You can refer to below link for flashing and creating filesystem ubifs image.

You can also put your application on SD card data partition and try.

What kind of application are you trying to install.

Generally you can install Android applications using adb or by copying your .apk into /system/app directory in the 2nd partition of sdcard.

can i boot the uImage using TFTP boot and mount RootFS using NFS (Network file System).?

Hi Prajith,

I think Beagleboard-XM u-boot does not support tftp command so you can not load uImage using tftp but you can boot with kernel from MMC and filesystem over NFS.
