Can I install CCSv4 and CCSv5 in the same PC and in the same operation system?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6678, TMS320C6457

There is two DSP EVM in our company. One is TMS320C6457,and the other is TMS320C6678. According to SDK,6457 woks in CCSV4,while 6678 works in CCSV5.Can i install CCSv4 and CCSv5 in the same PC and in XP system?

  • Yes, you can install both.  You just want them in separate directories.  You can use the default directories if you want because the CCSv4 one will be C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\ccsv4 and the CCSv5 will be in C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\Texas Instruments\ccsv5

You're right about the 6678 being supported only in CCSv5, but can you point me to the document that says the 6457 doesn't work with CCSv5?  I don't believe that this is the case.  I suspect that perhaps what the documentation means is that you need to use _at least_ CCSv4.  I think you should be able to use CCSv5 with both.  I will verify for you if you can give me this info.

Is the second "Texas Instruments" a typo?
