What NAND FLASH can AM1808 to support to boot from 8 bit nand

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM1808, OMAP-L138

We have  lay a new AM1808 PCB board.I use the MT29F1G08ABBDAHC:D   nand flash.

I use the sfh_omap-l138.exe to connect the PCB,but I can not erase the flash and program the UBL and U-BOOT  into the AM1808.

I want to know if  the AM1808's internal ARM ROM can support boot from MT29F1G08ABBDAHC:D ?

and the new AM1808 PCB only have NAND FLASH,   it do not  has the nor or spi FLASH,it only depend on boot from NAND FLASH.

Bay the way, the LogicPD EVM's flash is MT29F4G08AACWC:C; the hawkboard's flash is MT29F1G08ABCHC:C.

Why  my  PCB can not  boot from FLASH

  • Jack,

The bootloader app note (link below) includes a table in Appendix B that lists compatible NAND device parameters.  I recommend checking your NAND device's datasheet to make sure it is compatible.  Also, the bootloader should be compatible with any NAND device that is ONFI compliant.

Also, if you have the OMAP-L138 EVM's add-on "UI" board, it has a NAND socket.  You can use this socket to flash or boot from any NAND device with the standard form factor.

    Hope this helps.
